They don't make 'em like they used to. Well, they do, actually but that's beside the point. The toys the Made in Me gang played with when they were wee, were the best toys a child could have. Luckily for you dear readers, even though they were iconic toys of the 80's, many of these bundles of amazingness are still up for grabs. Phew! Here is a selection of toys we believe are the cat's pajamas.
1. Shape-O
Who would like to get their hands on a rattle, shape-sorter AND maths toy? Yes please kind sir. This little gem will keep your tots occupied from bairn right through to pre-school and it will last for years and years. I might even go so far to say it will be the best £19.99 you ever did spend. If your child is all about recognition, counting and dexterity you'd better snap this up pronto! Here is a link to do just that.

2. Simon Says
Strictly speaking this total diamond of a toy doesn't appear to be available in any good retail outlets. However, thanks to eBay you can be the proud owner of an original Simon Says. A wonderfully fun way to give your memory a work out. Simon Says - you follow. Simple. My cousins had one. I didn't. They also had an A La Carte Kitchen. I didn't. Bitter? Moi? Absolutely not. I had a carrot and a piece of string.

3. Stickle Bricks
BOOM! Yes, you heard right - Stickle Bricks. Often forgotten and put to the back of the queue behind Lego and Duplo, in my mind Stickle Bricks are the masters of building blocks. My love for Stickle Bricks was already bordering on passionate and then I read this description and my love grew stronger, "a colourful plastic shape a few centimeters long which has a brush of small plastic fingers on one or more edges". Who wouldn't want a toy that had small plastic fingers? Buy them here.

4. Pogo balls
Hours and hours were spent boinging around on one of these bad boys. How may bounces can you do before wobbling off? 23...not enough! Go again. This was how I spent many a day. If you were a particularly gifted pogo baller you could hop down stairs, spin around and even flip. How on earth you flip one I don't know but if someone gave me one now I'd give it a ruddy good go. Pop one in your shopping basket here.

5. Micro Machines
Apparently a whopping amount of fun in a tiny, little car. To be honest, I wasn't a Micro Machine fan but I've been reliably informed that they were so brilliant because 'you could hold a Ferrari in your hand'. Makes sense. Slightly odd, but it makes sense. Hugely collectible too and we all know there's nothing better than a bit of got, got, need. eBay to the rescue again folks.
