Friday Fives - Kids Threads

Hello! We hope you are all safe and sound and not snowed in! The U.K has become a Winter Wonderland albeit a wonderland that had ground to a halt. With all this snow spiraling around and the freezing chills whipping around your face, doing your Christmas shopping online has never sounded more appealing! This week the Friday Fives are focused on clothing your little nippers and ensuring they stay warm...and cool.

1. A Wombat coat?....Yes please!

Everything about Kidscase is awesome. The clothes are 'tranquil, versatile and fashion-forward', they have a very strong ethos of looking after people and the planet and their photography and styling is totally on the button. Everything in their Autumn/Winter range is amazing but personally we love the Alex Wombat Jacket seen below (£34.99). You can pick up their clothes from Mini Giants.

2. A nifty pair of britches

Muku clothes are made by two young artists living under the same roof raising their one year old daughter. Their clothes are really quite special. They are old school in essence but contemporary and understated overall. They also hint at the idea of 'do it yourself', which of course, floats our boat. They use a lot of tweed and their are plenty of braces to enjoy. It's all good stuff but we like the patched pants for boys and girls the best. Muku have their own Etsy shop here so pop along and snap up one of their items pronto!

3. Fun, bright, retro knits

Big smiles all round! The bright colours and retro graphics on Bobo Choses clothes just make you beam from ear to ear. The company was born out of Barcelona but all their clothes are made by the Act Social workshop-school in Bangladesh - 10% of profit is returned to the school. Bobo Choses is a great example of how to build a great business based on creativity, quality and social awareness. Each time Bobo Choses release a collection of clothes a set of stories come with it. Their Autumn/Winter garments are inspired by the story of Lobo Bobo which you can read on their homepage. Lots to chose from again but we have taken a particular fancy to the knitted items bearing rain clouds and apples. You can snag them from Mash n Gravy.

4. A bear necessity

When I was a little girl my favourite thing EVER was my woolly bear hat. It was red, had a big nose and ears and eyes that moved. Alas! The hat is no more and I am forever on the look out for a replacement. There are a lot of woolly hats with ears out there but this one from Joules gets our vote. It is simple and looks very snug. You can go over the top with animal themed hats but this one takes the biscuit. Also, it's not just a hat...it's a snood. Respect to the '80's!

5. No frills snowsuit

Every kid needs a great snowsuit. You don't need fancy patterns or snazzy reflectors....you need a snowsuit that does exactly what it says on the tin. We are all over this retro version from the ace Popupshop. As they say themselves all their garments are timeless organics. We couldn't agree more...and look how happy this kid is wearing his snowsuit!
