Friday Fives - Christmas Presents for Kids Rooms

Brrrrrrr. It's freezing! I hope you have your woolly hats and mittens at the ready folks. The cold snap has definitely bitten and with it a promise of snow! Today we bring you the second installment of our Christmas present guide. This Friday we are covering some delicious items to furnish your kids bedrooms with...or if you are anything like us, your own bedrooms too!

1. Colour In Wallpaper

If you have been reading this blog from the get-go you will know we have the Jon Burgerman wallpaper in our studio. We love it. Lo and behold there are other colour in wallpapers out there too. Our favourite is designed by Taylor & Wood and is very simply a wall of empty frames just waiting to be filled in with kiddie masterpieces. You can snag this from Graham & Brown for a very reasonable £18 a roll.

2. Beautiful Bunny Lamp

Heico make many beautiful lamps but this is our pick of the bunch. How enchanting would this lamp be in a children's bedroom? Not only does the rabbit look sweet and timid but the warm glow it emits is the perfect blanket of light for the nippers to fall asleep to. And as if this rabbit wasn't charming enough you can also get toadstools, ducks and squirrels. These lamps can be bought on quite a few websites but we think the most reasonably priced can be picked up from Petit Home for £32.

3. Framed Children's Classics

Books, books, books. We believe all children's rooms should be furnished with books galore. But not only should they be jostling for space on the book shelf they should be on the walls too. Imagine our delight when we discovered you can buy prints or canvases of vintage Ladybird books....and there are over 4000 images to chose from! They are certainly the gifts that keep on giving. A picture like this will remain on a wall for a lifetime. Definitely worth the investment. Check out the Ladybird Prints website for more information.

4. A Very Modern Rocking Horse

Admittedly there are some absolutely stunning vintage rocking horses out there but why not chose something a little more modern and cutting edge? There are lots of things we love about Reggie the eco rocker. He is made from recycled cardboard, he is flat packed making it easy to store, he is made in the U.K and he's a blank canvas so he nurtures creativity too! What more could you want from a rocking horse?! You can buy Reggie from his very own website right here (currently offering free Christmas delivery to the U.K).

5. Wooden Printer's Block Letters

No kids room is complete without having their names spelt out somewhere. With these wooden printers block letters not only will your child's name look super cool but they can play with them too! Simply use them as they were intended and print individual letters or a full name onto anything from paper to fabric, wash off and place back on the shelf where they will continue to look great! You can order them from Not On The High Street for £3.25 a letter.

Hi There,

This post is great, I love the cardboard rocking horse! I used to love my rocking horse when I was a kid and this one is just so novel! The colouring in wall paper is an awesome piece too, what kid would not have a field day in a room like that!?

Personally, my favourite gift for a kids room this year is a themed set of bed linen , this one has a vintage car design - http://www.finebedlinens.co.uk/motor-club/w1/i1001425/ I absolutely love it!

Thanks again for the great post, you've gained another regular reader in me! :)
